Get Ready To Relive Your Worms Nightmare

Gone are the days of my youth, when five of my closest friends and I would gather around a PC and choose the names for our Worms, laughing at whose was the most amusing or relevant.  Afterwards, 2 or 3 of us would mosey our way into another room, while each player made their first strike.  We would hear laughing, crying, yelling, cursing and wait for our turn to see what damage had been done to our team, and what damage we could do to theirs.  Those were the days, gosh how I miss them.

Well, Team17 hopes to help me and others like me relive those glory days of Worms Warfare with the release of Worms Reloaded on August 26th, 2010 (my birthday, ironically).  Over 15 years, the Worms titles have sold in excess of 25 million copies, and helped take PC gaming to new levels of  popularity and mass appeal.  With the release of Worms Reloaded, the game makes it’s way back to the format that made it so famous: the personal computer.

Martyn Brown, Business Development Director at Team17, says that bringing Worms Reloaded to the PC “has been a labour of love for the team given the legacy of 2D PC Worms.  We’ve reintroduced so much of what gamers loved about the good old days, and it’s fitting that it is also the first Worms game we’ve self-published since the early games. We are very much looking forward to supporting the game through the community on Steam as well as our own Facebook page.”

The new Worms will feature over 60 single-player missions, a fully-featured landscape creator, and 45+ weapons spanning the entire Worms series.

I don’t think I’m alone when I say that I can not wait to have a bazooka shot get blown right back into my face.
