More Rock Band 3 Tracks Confirmed along with Pre-Order Bonuses

October 26th is looking to be a pretty busy day in the gaming world. Not only is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II available that day, but so is Rock Band 3. Over the past weekend, at San Diego Comic-Con, fans of the hit Harmonix/MTV franchise were given some details.

So far, the confirmed tracks are:

  • Marilyn Manson –  “The Beautiful People”
  • Filter –  “Hey Man, Nice Shot”
  • Foreigner –  “Cold As Ice”
  • The B-52’s – “Rock Lobster”
  • Tears for Fears – “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”

Per the official press release, all songs are the original master recordings, which is great because it ensures there aren’t any surprises, like the song being sung by somebody else because the rights to the original track couldn’t be secured. While I’m personally excited about the Tears for Fears track, the appeal of singing “Hey Man, Nice Shot” just isn’t there. Why? Because it’s been out since late 2008 in Activision’s Guitar Hero: World Tour. Had they stuck on another Filter track, like maybe something off of ‘Title of Record’, I might be a little more enthused, but I digress…

It’s been known for years that if you pre-order a game, 9 times out of 10 you’ll get a special perk to say “thank you.” Those who are wanting to pre-order RB3 might have a tough decision on their hands because there are three different deals to choose from.

GameStop is offering those who pre-order for the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 versions (sorry Wii owners), a special free track pack that’s downloadable at launch. The songs included are:

  • Talking Heads – “Burning Down The House
  • Deftones – “My Own Summer”
  • New Order – “Blue Monday”

Amazon is the second establishment offering a pre-order deal, and while theirs isn’t a track pack, it is still very appealing. Those who reserve it for either console (PS3, 360, or Wii) will receive access to a special in-game guitar. Also, those who selected the PS3 or 360 version to reserve (again, sorry Wii owners), will get a coupon good for $10.00 off a future video game purchase off of Amazon.com.

Finally, if Wal-Mart is your thing, those who pre-order for any of the three consoles will receive a $10.00 eGift Card. This offer is only available for a limited time, and the pre-order must be made through www.walmart.com.
