Recommended Listening: Bedouin Soundclash

Prepare yourselves for something incredibly strange…  Bedouin Soundclash is a Canadian reggae band.  I know, I know.  How can a Canadian band be any good?  Well, Rush was Canadian, and they were awesome, so nyah nyah.  Back to the topic, the Canadian reggae band led by a white dude.Bedouin Soundclash released their debut album, Root Fire, in 2001.  I’m not a big fan of this album, honestly.  It’s not necessarily the music itself that bothers me, though I don’t think it’s amazing by any stretch.  Mostly it’s the sound quality of the album.  From what I recall…it sucks.  The only album from Bedouin Soundclash that I want to talk about is 2004’s Sounding a Mosaic.

Sounding a Mosaic is a fantastic album.  I can listen to this album over and over without getting sick of it.  The sound quality is great, the music and lyrics blend incredibly well, and everything about it is just so well done.  This album could easily fall in my top 25 favorite albums.  It’s calm, soothing, and makes me want to move.
