Midnight Mysteries: Salem Witch Trials for iPad Out Now

Hot off the heels of the smash hit Midnight Mysteries: Edgar Allan Poe Conspiracy, MumboJumbo Games has released Midnight Mysteries: Salem Witch Trials for the iPad. Revolving around the mysterious death of writer Nathaniel Hawthorne, of The Scarlet Letter fame, the player must travel back in time to the 17th century and the actual Salem Witch Trials to figure out the true cause of his death while solving puzzles, talking with the residents of Salem, and collecting clues from the historical village.

It all begins when you are approached by Hawthorne himself. Wanting his spirit to rest in peace, you know you have to go back and interview the townspeople to get to the bottom of things. MumboJumbo, who’ve perfected the hidden-object genre, wanted to create a game that is not only accessible to gamers of all skill levels, but something that’s engrossing as well. By bringing the popular PC franchise to the iPad, they’ve not only accomplished both, but they’ve utilized the touch screen aspect of the device to completely change the way the game is enjoyed.

With 17th century Salem completely recreated, players can explore it, inside and out, through 10 different missions. There is also a fully illustrated journal to help keep one on track. Should one opt to purchase the Collector’s Edition (and you know we love those), an enhanced strategy guide is included along with two special Easter Egg scenes.

Midnight Mysteries: Salem Witch Trials is available now for iPad through the iTunes App Store for $9.99, and if you don’t own one, there is a PC version with a free trial you can play.
