The Second Encounter makes it way to XBLA next month.From Majesco Entertainment comes the announcement that the part 2 of the wildly popular Serious Sam series, Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter, will be available on the XBox Live Arcade on September 22nd. Developed by Croteam, and in partnership with producer Devolver Digital, Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter continues the glorious high-definition chaos with a slick new graphic presentation, intense multiplayer action, and an onslaught of all-new levels, enemies and bosses. The re-vamped iteration of the original cranks up the carnage and uses the Serious Engine 3 to deliver the trademark over-the-top-action that is synonymous with the golden age of first-person shooters.
Players will take Sam through the crumbling Mayan ruins of South America, towering ziggurats of ancient Mesopotamia and the savage realm of medieval Europe. All the while fighting off never-ending waves of Lord Mental’s Army. Enemies include fan favorites like the Beheaded Kamikaze, Syrian Werebull and Kleer Skeleton, along with five new types of baddies and three new bosses for Sam to “play with.” Sam will be outfitted with a full arsenal of 14 ‘bring-the-pain’ weapons, including three new toys: the Sniper Rifle, Flamethrower and Chainsaw.
Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter features a brand spanking new Coop Survival mode along with other Cooperative, Versus and Team modes like Beast Hunt, Team Deathmatch, Last Man Standing and Capture the Flag, for those fans who don’t want to go at it alone.
