Holiday Gift Guide: Accessories

Holiday Gift Guide: Accessories

With all our suggestions for games, DVDs, and comics, of course we’re going to help pick out the things that make your electronics that much better! So, we’ve gone ahead and created a list of all the wickedly awesome accessories that go along with your cool consoles, PCs, handheld gaming devices, and even your iPhone or iPad. Enjoy!

First up, we’re going to share some pretty cool accessories for the iPhone. From ThinkGeek, we have the Pogo iPhone/iPad stylus, which allows users to finally use a stylus on their iPhone or iPad, avoid fingerprints, and still select that tiny link without hitting 3 others! Check it out for just $14.99. And, since we all know the iPhone is not exactly known for its extended battery life, courtesy of the Apple Store, we have the Philips Jump Start attachable battery pack, which allows users to double their battery capacity, and charge on the go! A little more expensive, at $59.95, but always a great item for when your phone dies in the middle of that really important phone call you’ve been waiting for!

Next up, we have all the gear you need for your PC. The Logitech G19 keyboard, designed for the hardcore gamer, provides 12 fully customisable hotkeys, custom color back lit keys, a tilting GamePanel LED screen to display all your gaming and player info, in addition to mutli-key input capabilities. For the price of $249.99, this gift may not fall under the “stocking stuffer” category, but still worth mentioning! For a less expensive choice, try a handy USB hub or the Logitech MX518 optical gaming mouse, with 8 programmable buttons, for a rather low price of $69.99

Of course, with the amount of gaming we all do, we couldn’t forget to give some help finding some cool portable gaming accessories. For all the necessary accessories, you can get the Mad Catz Travel Pak Plus for Nintendo DSi and DS Lite which includes a camera bag, screen protectors, cat adapters, stereo headphones, stylus replacements and two clip-ons for SD cards and games. Also check out the PSPgo cradle, which allows you to sync your PSPgo and view video on the big screen. Also, the PSP travel case is great for those road trips home after the holidays.

Then, to top it all off, we’ve got some pretty cool accessories for your Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3!

For the Xbox 360, we have Microsoft’s transforming controller, which Erik gave us a review of back in August. Then, we have a 250GB hard drive, or the hard drive transfer cable, which is useful when upgraded hard drives and switching information from one to the other.

PlayStation’s Move is a pretty popular item. So, why not grab an extra motion or navigation controller so you can play with friends. Or, for some added excitement, try the PlayStation Move shooting attachment. Or, for the hardcore gamer, you can pick up a Turtle Beach headset, such as the Ear Force PX21‘s for $79.95, or an inexpensive bluetooth headset.

The Nintendo Wii also has some exciting accessories. First up, the balance boardis a great addition to Wii Fit. Other popular Wii accessories include the Wii Wheel, which makes racing games much more comfortable and easy, and the Wii Zapper for shooter games.

Hopefully, this handy guide for all your hot accessories will help you choose that perfect gift! If you have found something really cool, be sure to let us know all about it! In the meantime – happy shopping!

On the outside, you might think Sam is rough and tough with her always-changing hair color and tattoos, but those closest to her will tell you she's actually a book worm, plant mom, avid backcountry hiker, and lover of all things Star Wars and video games!
