Splinter Cell & Prince of Persia HD Remakes Coming Soon

Many months ago Kyle wrote about two new HD trilogiescoming to the PlayStation 3: Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia. Earlier this week, Ubisoft released more information about the packs, and when gamers can expect them to become available.

On March 22nd, North American gamers can go to their local video game store or log in to PSN and purchase the trilogies for $39.99 each, which is not a bad price considering you get three full games. Sadly, those of you in Europe will have to wait until April 1st.

Prince of Persia pack includes The Sands of Time, Warrior Within, and The Two Thrones. The Splinter Cell trio contains Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow, and Chaos Theory.

So, even though these games will be having updated graphics and offer 3D stereoscopic environments, are you interested in playing classic Sam Fisher or the Prince again? Let us know in a comment below!

  • While this sounds great in theory (pun intended for Splinter Cell), I would have to assume that these remakes are based off of the vastly inferior PS2 versions of the Splinter Cell Trilogy. A damn shame if true, as they are so gimped compared to their Xbox counterparts, it would really make this whole “HD remake” endeavor rather moot.

You are correct Aldo. Basically they took the PS2 versions of the games and updated them, making them all nice and shiny. I am curious to see what the final product will look like on a nice, big TV.
