The Lord of the Rings Online: Rise of Isengard Screens Released

Turbine Inc. recently released a few new screenshots from The Lord of the Rings Online‘s newest content expansion–The Rise of Isengard–that is slated to take the Hobbits to Isengard September 27.

Rise of Isengard is the MMORPG’s third paid content expansion and offers a continuance to the story’s Epic Story Arc which has players trekking into the realm of Saruman (Dunland/Isengard) in order to hinder the White Wizard’s plans to crush Rohan in a sea of Dunlendings and Uruk-hai, and also to assist the Rangers of the Grey Company in their perilous quest south. In addition to continuing the Epic Story Arc, Rise of Isengard will raise the level cap to 75, offer new class skills, give players more quests, a 24-person raid and three more regions to explore on the map.

The Lord of the Rings Online is a free-to-play MMORPG that features an in-game store model to unlock certain content–including quest packs and expansions necessary to level-up higher and faster–using Turbine Points. Prospective or current players may purchase Rise of Isengard ahead of time here via one of three different packages. The Legendary Edition offers a variety of quest packs–including the Mines of Moria & Siege of Mirkwood expansions–as well as all three bonus mounts, all three sets of bonus cosmetic armor, a special title and 1,000 Turbine Points. The Heroic Edition offers the player their choice of one of the bonus mounts along with the corresponding cosmetic armor, the in-game title and 1,000 Turbine Points. The Standard Edition offers the red-colored mount and the in-game title. All of the packages offer a bonus cloak that matches the color of the mount and a 25% boost in experience gain for any character linked to the account until level 65.

The screenshots below are one of the new regions called Dunland and the landscape/architecture players will get to roam through. Players will also get the chance to explore The Gap of Rohan (an area that is hinted at as a place of intense conflict) and Isengard (where Saruman dwells in the tower of Orthanc). Other screenshots featuring the bonus mounts and armor from pre-ordering can be found here.
