Moving On…

Moving On…

If you follow me on Twitter or Google+, what I am about to announce won’t be news to you, but hopefully you’ll still be just as excited: today is my last day at Marooners’ Rock.

Since 2008, Chris and I have watched the site and our community grow. I have been fortunate enough to become friends with some amazing individuals, to have a staff that was a pleasure to work with, and to have the ability to attend some incredible events. It’s safe to say that during my time at Marooners’ Rock (formerly World of Meh!), I had a blast.

Tomorrow I will begin a new chapter in my career, and it is one that I am so eager to start. It will still be gaming related, as that is a passion I won’t easily give up on, and I am so honored to be a part of the new community. While I won’t spill all the beans here, I will instead drop a hint at the end of this post. All will be revealed tomorrow when I update my Twitter bio, so if you aren’t following me on there, perhaps you might want to!

What does my departure mean for the future of the site? To be blunt, absolutely nothing. Everything will still run as it has, however the only change is that Chris will assume all of my duties and take over that aspect of the site in addition to his current roles. Both Chris and I have taken the necessary steps to ensure that everything will be seamless and will have no negative impact on the efficiency of Marooners’ Rock.

I will admit that I am sad to go, since this site has been our baby and I am so proud of everything that we’ve accomplished, but I would be a fool to pass up a chance to fulfill a childhood dream of mine. Not a lot of people are fortunate enough to achieve such a dream, so I had to jump at this without hesitation or reservation. That being said, I’d like to express immense gratitude to all of you for being a reader and a treasured member of our community. Thanks to your support and your readership, you helped make Marooners’ Rock into what it is today and I will never be able to fully convey just how much it means to me. Being a part of an industry I love so much is a gift in itself, but being able to engage with my peers and with others who share the same passions and interests… there is nothing comparable.

Thank you all so much for being a part of Marooners’ Rock and for being a part of the past 2 1/2 years of my life.

I hope to see you all around!

p.s…. here’s that hint:
