Magic: The Gathering to be Featured in Seattle’s EMP Museum

The EMP Museum is a non-profit museum that inspires anyone who walks through its doors. It was created to showcase anything and everything creative, and focuses on contemporary pop culture.

A trading card game created by Richard Garfield is now part of the new Fantasy: Worlds of Myth and Magic exhibit in Seattle’s EMP Museum. Magic: The Gathering will be among other pop culture phenomenons including Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, and Harry Potter. Fans of Magic: The Gathering will be able to take a look at artwork from the game, and original alpha and beta cards will make an appearance, along with key artwork from the game’s top artists and designers. Be sure to go to the EMP Museum starting Friday, April 26th for the opening celebration. Those who attend on Friday will have the opportunity to meet the creative minds behind Magic, such as Senior Designer Mark Rosewater and Senior Director of Magic R&D Aaron Forsythe. This is an exciting event you won’t want to miss.

The new fantasy exhibit is unique in that it is the first to delve into the fantasy aspect of pop culture and display it for everyone to see. Reading more about this on the EMP Museum website makes me want fly over to Seattle right now. Details of Friday’s schedule include a scavenger’s quest, an archery competition, and a sword fighting competition. Visit the site for more information about the exhibit: Fantasy Exhibit.
