The Mythical DNA Pokémon Deoxys is now available through a special distribution event via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service. TCG players will also be able to acquire the Deoxys-EX card through the new Pokémon TCG: Black & White-Plasma Freeze expansion. For DS systems, two strains of the powerful Deoxys character will be available for Pokémon Black 2 and Pokémon White 2. Players will finally be able to add Deoxys to their Pokédex.
As mentioned in a previous article, trainers who own Deoxys will have an advantage and have enhanced gameplay. Such advantages are listed below:
- Abilities such as Psycho Boost and Recover for healing
- Abilities such as Nasty Plot and Dark Pulse for knocking enemies off balance
- Deoxys will be starting at level 100
- Arrives in a Dusk Ball and holds a Life Orb to boost attack power at the expense of HP
- Has the Pressure Ability that can drain enemy PP
- Deoxys has 4 Formes to change to when brought to a certain place in Nacrene City (Normal Forme, Attack Form, Defense Forme and Speed Forme)
For the Pokémon TCG: Black & White-Plasma Freeze expansion pack, players will have the following features:
- 170 HP Deoxys-EX card
- Deoxys can turn enemies’ Energy against them by using the Helix Force attack
- Team Plasma cards which is decorated with a blue border and a Team Plasma shield
- 6 new Pokémon-EX cards including Deoxys-EX, Thundurus-EX, Latios-EX and Latias-EX
- 6 full-art Pokémon-EX rare Ultra cards
- 2 new ACE SPEC cards which are really powerful. Only one ACE SPEC card is allowed in each player’s deck.
Pokémon TCG: Black & White-Plasma Freeze has 10-card booster packs for $3.99 each and reconstructed theme decks of 60 cards for $11.99 each.
If you would like to participate in this special Deoxys character distribution starting May 8th, you will need the following:
- Wireless broadband Internet access
- A Nintendo DS, Nintendo DSi, Nintendo DSi XL, Nintendo 3DS, or Nintendo 3DS XL system
- A copy of the Pokémon Black 2 or Pokémon White 2 game
- No more than 11 Wonder Cards in their possession
In addition to the launch of Black & White-Plasma Freeze, The Pokémon Company International will be hosting a special airing of Pokémon episodes on their site here: Pokémon. The series will feature star characters from the TCG pack like Bisharp, Absol, Thundurus and Deoxys.
