Music Artists and Major League Gaming Competition Revealed for X Games Aspen 2015

As someone who loves following a lot of games including events such as the X Games. Yes, I know the X Games didn’t have video games until just recently, but who doesn’t love seeing some awesome people show off crazy stunts. Now we have games to watch! Just moments ago ESPN announced X Games Aspen 2015 tickets are now on sale along with the MLG competition and what music artists will be preforming. You can see all this information below from the press release!

X Games Aspen 2015 tickets are now on sale for the musical performances, Major League Gaming (MLG) competition and premium action sports viewing at Buttermilk Mountain. After a successful concert series at Wagner Park in 2014, X Games will bring the music back to the base of Buttermilk Mountain with a new stage and venue to create a complete event experience for X Games fans. This year’s concerts will include performances by Chromeo, Skrillex, Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa, alongside the sport and festival offerings

Fans can purchase a four-show general admission pass for $150. A limited number of preferred four-show passes are available for $200, which include preferred viewing, a private entrance to the concert venue, dedicated preferred restrooms and cash bar. Performances will begin Friday, January 23, at 6:15 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are now available for purchase at www.XGames.com/tickets. Fans can also view all four shows streamed live via www.XGames.com. As always, the action sports general admission events are free to the public.

In addition to the four shows at X Games Aspen, fans can enjoy more intimate shows with select artists at Aspen’s Belly Up, an instrumental partner in bringing music back to Buttermilk Mountain (www.bellyupaspen.com for more information). On Saturday, January 24, at 5:30 p.m., Aspen Snowmass will host a free concert featuring SBCR DJ Set (Bloody Beetroots) at the base of Aspen Mountain as part of the Hi-Fi Concert series.

Major League Gaming & Premium Hospitality Options
After a successful launch at X Games Austin 2014, MLG will return to the X Games with a three-day tournament: MLG X Games Aspen Counter Strike: Global Offensive Invitational . Eight of the top teams from North America and Europe will compete for X Games medals at the MLG tent onsite at Buttermilk Mountain. The event will be streamed live exclusively on MLG.tv, with highlights during the X Games telecast. To purchase VIP tickets visit www.mlg.tv/store.

Several hospitality and preferred options for the action sports competition will also soon be available to fans, including suites, Platinum and Gold X Games Experience passes. Each of these options will provide fans a premium experience over all four days of X Games Aspen 2015, including premium viewing areas for sports and music, lift tickets, food and much more. X Games Music Performances by:

  • Chromeo: The unmistakable electro-funk duo of former hip hop producers Dave 1 (David Macklovitch) and P-Thugg (Patrick Gemayel), Chromeo began in Montreal with 80s funk making up their DNA. Chromeo features the suit-wearing Dave 1 on guitar and vocals and P-Thugg as the synth specialist. After dropping their first album, She’s in Control in 2004, Chromeo followed four years later with Fancy Footwork, both to commercial success and critical acclaim. Since then, Chromeo has played festivals including Bonaroo, Coachella and Lollapalooza, sold out shows in Central Park and at Red Rocks, late night talk shows from Letterman to Jimmy Fallon and had their music featured in multiple popular video games and marketing campaigns. Recently dropping their fourth album, White Women, Chromeo takes their 80s-inspired music to the next level with funky melodies and smart lyrics about contemporary love.

  • Skrillex: A Los Angeles native, Sonny Moore began producing under the name Skrillex in 2008, quickly making a name for himself in the emerging electronic music scene. In 2010 he released his debut EP, My Name is Skrillex, as a free download on his MySpace page. Later that year he signed with mau5trap records and toured with DeadMau5. In 2011, Skrillex formed his own label OWSLA, which within a year had launched some of the most buzzworthy names in American electronic music. One year later, Skrillex composed an original track for Disney’s Wreck It Ralph, wrote one of the biggest club hits of the year, “Wild for the Night”, with A$AP Rocky and launched his first fashion collaboration with G-Star. Since 2010, Skrillex has played over 500 shows in over 35 countries. He has six Grammy award wins and was the most-played artist on SoundCloud in 2013. Early this year, Skrillex released his first studio album Recess and landed his first Rolling Stone cover.

  • Wiz Khalifa: A military brat, Wiz Khalifa had lived all over the world before he even entered high school. At just 12 years old, Wiz was already recording and producing his own records in his father’s Oklahoma studio. Settling in Pittsburgh during high school, Wiz continued recording at a local studio, where he was discovered and signed to Rostrum Records. Wiz dropped his first full-length album his senior year of high school. In 2010, Wiz released his second album, Kush & Orange Juice as a free download. The success of Kush & Orange Juice garnered the attention of Atlantic Records, who signed Wiz that same year. He headlined his Waken Baken Tour later that year, selling out nearly all 50 venues across the U.S. In 2011, Wiz released his first single for Atlantic/Rostrum, which gained him breakout fame as “Black and Yellow” became a Pittsburgh anthem.
