E3 2015: New Kingdom Hearts III Information Released

While I sit here patiently twiddling my thumbs waiting for Kingdom Hearts III to be released, Square Enix has decided to tease me back into the world of the beloved Disney/Final Fantasy mashup with a brand new trailer! In it, we are shown actual gameplay of the game while in development. (Notice how the running animation looks good, but it looks like Sora is not making contact with the ground. Just something I noticed.) The landscapes on which we are able to view this masterpiece? : What appears to be Mount Olympus, then near the Kingdom of Corona, or better known as the land of the Disney film “Tangled,” then ending in what appears to be Twilight Town. A common occurance in each world: IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL. If there were any doubts on the graphical overhaul this series would be receiving for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, there shouldn’t be anymore. In regards to Kingdom Hearts III and including Tangled, Disney Producer Roy Conli said, “I think this is going to be an amazing journey for these guys as they get the richness of our story, and the richness of Kingdom Hearts…It’s going to be a phenomenal experience for the game player.”

Of course old friends Donald and Goofy reappear, but in each world we are shown what appears to be a new “keyblade transformation” finishing move, and neon “replicas” of rides from Disney World/Land which are used as combo finishers as well. Another takeaway from the gameplay is that it seems combat will be going towards the direction of Birth By Sleep (using commands), which I personally thought was a great system that worked on the handheld, and even translated well to the ps3 remaster. Unfortunately, at this time there is no release date information, only the words “Now In Development” at the end of the trailer.

Doug bashes his fists against the keyboard and eventually a piece of video is made, sometimes it is even funny. Some of his gaming accomplishments are: completing a living Pokedex on the Pokebank, 1000 pointing BCFX: Black College Football: The X-perience: the Doug Williams Edition, and only crying five times during the Kingdom Hearts series.
