E3 2015: Xbox Game Preview Program Launches With Elite: Dangerous, The Long Dark

Elite: Dangerous and The Long Dark are now available on Xbox One as part of Microsoft’s recently announced Xbox Game Preview program.

The preview program allows gamers to purchase games while they are still being developed, similar to Steam’s Early Access program. A key difference in Microsoft’s program is that developers are required to provide a free trail of their game. These trails should help consumers get a taste of the game and its stability prior to cracking open their wallets.

Those looking to take the plunge can fire up their Xbox One and snag Elite: Dangerous for $30.99 or The Long Dark for $19.99.

Microsoft cautions that potential purchasers that the games are works in progress and may or may not change over time and may not release as a final product.

Microsoft plans to continue to add more games to the Xbox Game Preview program in the coming months.
