Gamescom 2015: Crackdown 3 Prepares To Rock The World

Do you like super-soldiers that save cities, but ultimately making the city a pile of rubble before saving the day? No I’m not talking about a Marvel film. Rather, I am talking about Reagent Games’ long anticipated sequel, Crackdown 3. Only available on the Xbox One, Crackdown 3 showed today that it isn’t just “some other sequel” but “THE sequel.” Continuing the style of gameplay, Crackdown 3 will be a sandbox game that features an open campaign, complete with online co-op.

But that isn’t all. Little details have been mentioned, but get your boarding passes ready for the hype train. It is about to take off. Using cloud processing, a new multiplayer mode has been announced. “But Doug, why would we need the cloud computing anyways??” Well, I’ll tell you why. In this mode, 100% of the environment is destructible. Yeah. 100%. Don’t like a building? Blow it up and watch it tumble. Oh, another building is in the way? I hope you like dominoes. Yeah. Pretty badass.

In story mode, we are given a 4 person co-op campaign, which has been enhanced with a new story, new weapons, new vehicles, new enemies, and everyone’s favorites, more orbs. In competitive multiplayer, blow everything up. Literally, everything. Using the Microsoft Cloud, the Xbox One is able to harness 20 times the power it has, and with this power allows you to blow up the entirety of the city. Are you on the hype train yet? You should be. Crackdown 3’s multiplayer Beta will launch next Summer.

Doug bashes his fists against the keyboard and eventually a piece of video is made, sometimes it is even funny. Some of his gaming accomplishments are: completing a living Pokedex on the Pokebank, 1000 pointing BCFX: Black College Football: The X-perience: the Doug Williams Edition, and only crying five times during the Kingdom Hearts series.
