How are you enjoying being part of the Xbox One preview program? If you answered “I love it,” you are one of the lucky ones. If you’ve been waiting on your invitation, then i have some bad news.
According to Program Manager Emily Hanson, Microsoft has just about hit peak capacity, meaning that those waiting to be accepted will have to wait for a while longer. Hanson announced the slow down on the private preview forum, saying,
“Due to a tremendous response from our fans, the Xbox Preview program has reached a near capacity level. With that in mind, we are slowing the number of new people we are accepting to optimize for testing. We are thankful for the amount of interest we’ve received to date and look forward to sharing more details on preview opportunities soon.”
While not a moratorium on new testers, there will be far fewer through the next few months. It speaks volumes about the program, and the enthusiasm from fans. Hopefully things change in the near future, and if they do, we will make sure to update you! What does this mean for the time being? Hardly any new users will be invited and Microsoft has pretty much slowed down the entire process of bringing users into the program. If you’re one of the many users online asking friends and others for an invite the chances of you getting in are extremely hard now.
