At Twitchcon, Harmonix announced that they will be releasing the first update to their upcoming title Rock Band 4 on December 8th of this year. Yes, you heard me right, their unreleased game has an update planned two months after release announced two weeks before release.
This update will focus on new social and competitive features, as well as some surprises for fans. What does this mean? WHO KNOW! But by God it has my Jimmies rustled because I have Rockband fever. Bad.
Harmonix also confirmed that Variable Breakneck Speed will be added to the Rockband series for the first time. This will allow players to control their note speeds independently.
Harmonix said when asked about the update: “We’ve said that we’re viewing Rock Band 4 as a platform that we will build on over time…and this first feature update is just the beginning; we can’t wait to share more details after launch.” So yeah. There you go folks. This game isn’t even out yet, and we are getting free updates and a date. How does this make you feel? Are you excited? Can you contain yourselves? I for one know I cannot at all.
