At this time I’m cheering for the news that just came in from NIS America about the game Disgaea. Now you may be wonder what the news is, right? Well stay tuned since I need to get this joy out of my system. Years ago my good friend John whom I met in college introduced me to Disgaea in which I spent many hours playing on the PS2. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be hooked to the franchise as I am today.
Moments ago NIS America sent out a press wide blast to announce the Disaea is coming to Steam. Yes, it’s coming to Steam so if you don’t own a PlayStation you’ll be able to play the game in 2016 on PC. As you can see from the quoted text from the press release below…
“It is the rebirth of an era. NIS America is extremely proud and excited to announce that fans old and new will finally have the chance to experience the strategy title that catapulted Nippon Ichi Software, Inc. to their position as the most prolific Strategy RPG developer in the world: Disgaea—as Disgaea PC will be available on Steam worldwide in early 2016!”
As I said at the start this news has me very excited and if you’d like you can check out the Steam page already by clicking here. If you’re also a fan of the Disgaea series sound off in the comments below and tell me what you enjoyed the most about it. See below for some information on what the PC version will include.
Optimized for PC: The development team has taken special care to optimize the world of Disgaea for the PC with support for a myriad of screen sizes, new keyboard and mouse controls, updated tile textures, as well as an optimized user interface.
The Definitive Version of the First Disgaea: This slick revival includes all the content of the original game, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, as well as content like Etna Mode that was added to its PSP® port! For new players, and fans of the series alike, this will be the version to have in your collection.
All new Steam integrations: With the jump to Steam, Disgaea PC now includes extras such as Steam Achievements to compete with your friends, Cloud Saves, Badges and trading cards. Now hitting level 9999 isn’t just a personal moment of pride, it’ll be one you can share.
