ARK: Survival Evolved Evolves More on Xbox One

Rejoice ARK Survivalists on the Xbox One! This weekend, the first content addition was dropped into the world. ARK became one of the most downloaded games on Xbox One within the first week, with more than 1 million downloads.  The majority of this update was stability control for players, including:

  • Dino rebalancing
  • The addition of a primitive cage and stone fireplace items
  • Fixed Cave Loading crash/fall-thru
  • Improved performance: better framerate, less stalls
  • Fixed crosshair not appearing
  • Fixed potential loss of character save data in local mode
  • Fixed fur armor colorization
  • Improved speed of server listing
  • Fixed Taming Dinos losing Inventories/messed-up-Inventories upon reloading single player save game
  • Fixed a memory leak that was typically causing crashes around the Volcano area

You honestly didn’t think these are the only changes/additions, did you? One big announcement is that this update brought ARK up to PC version v231.9 (last year) plus opens up 100+ more servers. My favorite part of the update: the Kangaraptorsaurus. It’s actually called the Procoptodon and it is pretty damn adorable. Just look at it:

All of this is added at no charge, with plenty to come before the official release this Summer, and it won’t end there. We still have quite a bit to go before the Xbox One version catches up to the PC version. To watch the Procoptodon in action, watch below, then go forth and master your own.

Doug bashes his fists against the keyboard and eventually a piece of video is made, sometimes it is even funny. Some of his gaming accomplishments are: completing a living Pokedex on the Pokebank, 1000 pointing BCFX: Black College Football: The X-perience: the Doug Williams Edition, and only crying five times during the Kingdom Hearts series.
