H1Z1 Comes to PS4 and Xbox One this Summer

If you aren’t one of the 2.5 million who downloaded H1Z1 on Steam Early Access last year, time to grab your sawed-off shotgun and canned goods. Daybreak Game Company announced a large amount of information about the game’s upcoming release.

Daybreak is breaking up its wildly popular game into two separate games, both offering a different genre for you to explore. However, the games will not be constrained to just PC this time around! Console versions of King of the Hill will launch simultaneously on PC, PS4, and Xbox One this summer. Both games will continue to be on Steam Early Access through the year.

H1Z1: King of the Kill is a multiplayer shooter containing a variety of modes, including the immensely popular Battle Royale mode. According to Executive Creative Director Jens Andersen,

“H1Z1: King of the Kill is all about the spectacle. All of the game modes will feature unique gameplay elements that invite prowess, chaos, glory, and a little bit of ridiculousness all into one fight. The next game mode we introduce will make vehicles an important part of the exhibition, adding another layer of energy and turbulence to the mix as players have to move rapidly to different areas of the map in order to stay alive.”

The second game, H1Z1: Just Survive will be the survival, open-world zombie experience. This persistent world will force players to scavenge, craft, build bases, and find ways to survive the onslaught.

Andersen also said this about Just Survive, “H1Z1: Just Survive development will remain focused on creating an open-world survival experience. We are working on creating a world that’s immersive, that captures the mindset of the last remaining humans trying to survive a post-apocalyptic zombie-filled wasteland – what does it feel like to be forced to scavenge for resources, to have to construct shelters to live, to aid or hinder the last remnants of human civilization? It’s a richer gameplay experience and we want to make sure we do it justice.”
