New Pokemon Games Announced during Pokemon Nintendo Direct

Today on the newest Nintendo Direct, the PokeGods smiled upon us. I’ll start with the smallest news. Starting February 27th, you can purchase Pokémon Blue, Red, and Yellow on the Nintendo eShop for about $10. That’s not new information. However, if you do play these new ports, you will be able to send the pokemon you catch to newer games for the first time from Generation I. (this does not include FireRed and LeafGreen, they are Gen III) That’s right, there is PokeBank compatibility for Pokemon. But what could you possible want to send these Pokemon to? Oh I don’t know…Maybe….

That’s right folks! Generation VII. There was nothing actually announced about these games, except for the names and logos, and the fact it comes out Holiday 2016. Even so, this did not stop me from doing a happy dance in the middle of work today. While some were disappointed in the tiny not-even-7-minutes of Nintendo Direct, it teased the game perfectly. Hopefully we will see more in the near future. Don’t forget to check out all of the exciting new releases for the 20th anniversary, including new card packs, sets, and toys! Now, get out there and catch them all!

Doug bashes his fists against the keyboard and eventually a piece of video is made, sometimes it is even funny. Some of his gaming accomplishments are: completing a living Pokedex on the Pokebank, 1000 pointing BCFX: Black College Football: The X-perience: the Doug Williams Edition, and only crying five times during the Kingdom Hearts series.
