The Walking Dead: Michonne Extended Preview Revealed

The Walking Dead: Michonne Extended Preview Revealed

If you know anything about me, you know that I love me some Walking Dead, and by some I mean all. I have the first two compendiums plus issues 115-150 in protective coverings, I adore the show, I 1000G’d Survival Instinct (that one was rough), and I have the Telltale series, to just name a few. Needless to say, when they announced a miniseries that will be covering the katana wielding badass we all know and love, I squealed. A lot!

Well, this weekend they revealed the first 6 minutes of gameplay and OH MY GOD. I’m not going to dive too deep into it, but man. It is everything I wanted it to be.

The three episode miniseries will cover the time in the comic books where Michonne left the group to find herself, presumably between issues 126 and 139. Now, Telltale has said that you do not have to have read the comics to fully understand; it is a self contained story that will just add backstory to the comics. As always, Robert Kirkman worked with Telltale on the series for continuity purposes. For the game, it has the same style of the previous Seasons, but there is something about it (honestly it may have been in season 2 but I haven’t gotten around to playing all the way through it yet…oops.. some Walking Dead fan I am) that feels more refined. The button presses flow with the scene, as opposed to being a part of the interface, it feels more incorporated with the environment.

All I can fully say is that I cannot wait for it to release, and I am so impressed with how well done the first scene was. The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries will premiere its first of three episodes, ‘In Too Deep,’ this February 23rd on PC/Mac from the Telltale Online Store, Steam, and other digital distribution services, the PlayStation®Network for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, the Xbox Games Store for Xbox One® and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, followed by a release on compatible iOS devices via the App Store, and Android-based devices via Google Play and the Amazon App Store starting February 25th. The second episode in the miniseries, ‘Give No Shelter,’ will follow in the month of March, and conclude with the third episode, ‘What We Deserve,’ in April. All three episodes in the miniseries will be available for purchase at the cost of $14.99 USD or equivalent when the first episode debuts, including access to the second and third episodes as they become available. Let us know your thoughts!
