April Showers Bring Viz Manga

Viz Media is behind some of the biggest franchises in manga and anime, publishing titles like One Piece, Tokyo Ghoul, Dragonball Z, and a ton more. Each month Viz expands its offerings and we got the details on what is in store for April.  There are some old favorites and new time faces coming to the manga space on VizManga.com and the VizManga app on iOS and Android. Let’s check them out!

First up, Monster Hunter: Flash will debut on April 12th, which follows the typical adventure of a nobody becoming a titular Monster Hunter. Of course, this cliche sounding synopsis will be told in the frame of the uber-popular Capcom game of the same name to make it anything but ordinary. Expect Felyne zaniness and epic battles with monsters of abnormal size. Oh, and massive weaponry.

On April 18th, Hunter X Hunter makes a triumphant return. While later in the month on the 25th a special Naruto one-shot by creator Masashi Kishimoto will launch. Many other series will be getting additional chapters as well including Assassination Classroom, Honey So Sweet, the finale of Library Wars: Love and War, and Yu-gi-oh 5Ds.

We’ve been told that there are a few cool Digital Manga bundles being made available too, centered on food themed manga. Food Wars, a series that is a guilty pleasure of mine, will have two different bundles. Oishinbo A La Carte, is getting a seven volume bundle with additional vignettes on various foods. Finally, Yakitate!! Japan and Toriko will get three bundles. Tons of ways to get a value meal on the best of food anime. All its missing is the classic Fighting Foodons!

It’s raining manga this April on Viz Media! Which titles have got you all the most excited? I’m a fan of anything Monster Hunter, so I’ll try to check it out. Let us know!
