Nintendo Offering Tons of Zelda Coverage This E3

When Nintendo announced that the NX would not be featured at E3 this year, there was a collective cry of disappointment and frustration. However, fans were thrown a bone in the form of the new Legend of Zelda game, which will be playable on Wii U at Nintendo’s booth.

Making the new Zelda the focus should help satiate Wii U fans, and give them something to look forward to given the shocking lack of support for it. Zelda will actually be the only playable game at the booth this year surprisingly, although the need for a big game has been plaguing the Wii U for a long while.

“At E3 this year, we’re treating people to an immersive Zelda experience,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “By giving attendees extended hands-on time with this remarkable game, they’ll be able to get a much deeper understanding of something new for the franchise.”

In addition to having the game on the show floor, Nintendo will also be kicking off the show on June 14th at 9 a.m. PST with Treehouse: Live, a new service along the line of Nintendo Direct. The service will be streaming gameplay of The Legend of Zelda all day. Developers will be adding commentary, and will also be streaming on the show floor, YouTube, Twitch, and on their E3 site.
