Battlefield 1 Details Reveal Dynamic Warfare

Battlefield 1, so far looks like a great way to add some variety to the sea of first person shooters adopting the more modern landscape. Going back to World War I opens up some crazy possibilities and judging by the recent footage, DICE is determined to make the most with the setting and the technology available. This combination literally creates the perfect storm, as dynamic weather and more ensures that no two battles feel the same.

The elements play a huge part in Battlefield 1, whether a sudden fog sweeps over the battlefield, limiting visibility, or a heavy rain makes enemies hard to hear. Couple this with destructible environments, make the surroundings just as much a part of the combat as any of the weaponry. Smart tactics and teamwork will be needed to conquer the field.

Adding to the multiplayer experience is the new Operations which will create smaller objectives that have a larger role on the overall battlefield. This creates a lasting effect, beyond a single match. Even when the battle seems lost though, there is hope in the new Behemoths, massive vehicles that can easily turn the tide of battle. So far three Behemoths are confirmed, Armored Train, Air Ship, and the Battleship. All of these elements are coming together nicely judging by the trailers and gameplay being shown off on Twitch.

Aleksander Grøndal, Senior Producer at DICE had this to say in the release, “With Battlefield 1 we’re looking to deliver the most dynamic shooter ever. We want to make sure that no battle is ever the same for the players, and with the introduction of Operations, we’re giving the fans variety for game play and creativity.” He goes on to say, “Plus, with the new Behemoths, only in Battlefield 1 can you bring an Air Ship to a dogfight”
