Every year, there are multiple speed running charity events. Get ready to beat the heat with Summer Games Done Quick. The stream will start at 12:00 PM Central Daylight Time on July 3rd. The event will run for a continuous 160 hours and will be broadcasted on Twitch, and YouTube!
This year, there are many games on the schedule. Of course we will have the classics: Tetris: The Grandmaster, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Super Mario Sunshine and more. This year, we get community favorites such as Pepsiman and one of last year’s biggest titles: Fallout 4. It will be shrunk down from 40 hours to about an hour. That I have to see. All donations that SGDQ raises will be going to the charity Doctors Without Borders. This organization provides care to those who are unable to pay for their own healthcare in the face of violence, neglect or catastrophe. Last year, Games Done Quick events raised over $2.7 million dollars, and this year $1.2 has already been raised from Awesome Games Done Quick, their Winter event. So far, it looks like they are on par to topple last year’s amount.
