Bethesda Announces Fallout 4 For HTC Vive

E3 seems to have brought out the best in Bethesda in the two short years they have appeared at the show.  Last year dropping the bomb that Fallout 4 was not only coming but was only a few short months away, Fallout Shelter Bethesda’s first foray into the mobile market, as well as the announcement of Doom that recently released to very positive reviews from fans and the media alike. This year seems to be no different with announcements that have Bethesda fans excited for the coming months.

The news continued to roll out  for Bethesda at E3 as they announced that Fallout 4 will be coming to HTC Vive VR headsets within the next 12 months.

In response to the announcement, Bethesda Global VP of marketing & PR Pete Hines said, “We think VR is the perfect fit for truly immersive games like our massive open-world RPGs. If you thought Survival mode was an intense Fallout experience… you ain’t seen nothing yet.”  Fans at E3 were given a small glimpse of what to expect with a playable VR demo allowing players to interact with their Pip-Boys and also with Dogmeat all while immersed within the Fallout universe.

But Fallout isn’t the only Bethesda title getting the VR treatment at this years E3.  In addition to the Fallout announcement and demo Bethesda also brought along a VR tour of hell in a Doom demo available at their booth.  With these strides Bethesda is taking towards VR integration it shows just how serious they are about utilizing VR technology and including it into their future titles.  Could a possible Elder Scrolls title be stepping its way into VR in the near future?  It doesn’t seem to be out of the question at this point with all that they have shown us at this years E3, but only time will tell.
