As with every E3 news comes out of leaks of upcoming titles, but when it comes to major AAA they tend to show up quickly, but quickly shot down by the developers and/or publishers. Why? Well they want everyone to be surprised on the announcement. I can’t blame them, but it’s always going to happen. Well it seems rumors about Bethesda’s E3 show are suggesting the company will announce a fully-revamped Prey 2 in which many of us have been waiting for, Wolfenstein 2, Evil Within 2 and a current-gen remaster of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Yes, that last part said a remastered version of Skyrim for the Xbox One/PS4. I mean why remaster a game to PC? (Just kidding) Many of us know the Skyrim has been a highly requested game to come to Xbox One Backwards Compatibility. This would in turn make sense if Bethesda said “NO” due to a possible remaster of the game coming our way. Industry insider Shinobi602, who appeared on the H.A.M Radio Podcast spoke about Bethesda’s conference during the episode he stated this about Prey 2, “that Prey 2 reboot is definitely going to be there it’s not called Prey 2, they definitely reworked it completely”, after that he stated that, “I would expect a – how should I say it – remaster of sorts for something.” Does this mean they’re grabbing the game the announced a few years ago and rebooting it in a new way? We’ll find out if true during Bethesda’s show.

On top of this “leak” it has been stated that Skyrim is going to be remastered as well. GamePro has reported Shinobi’s quote in regard to a possible Skyrim remaster. Insider, Enter The Dragon Punch went to NeoGAF to say “it’s real” and that it would include all DLC, improved visuals and mods – possibly using the same technology as Fallout 4’s console mods system being trialed on Xbox One. This alone already has me ready to spend my hard earned pay check on the game alone. Skyrim + Mods = SOLD!
It’s got to the point that even Eurogamer has stated that it knows the Skyrim and Prey 2 rumors to be true. Well does this mean with we’re getting a lot of big games this year? Eurogamer also expects to sequels to Wolfenstein: the New Order and Shinji Mikami’s The Evil Within. We can only hope with all these “leaks” that they end up being true. We’ve reached out to the PR company on these rumors, but we highly doubt we’ll hear back on the subject. At this time take these rumors with a grain of salt until Bethesda makes the possible announcement at E3. What do you think of these rumors?
