Dark Horse is Publishing A New Zelda Art Book

The Legend of Zelda is a franchise that has some amazing artwork behind it. Dark Horse, the publishing house that puts out some awesome comics and the publishers behind the fascinating Hyrule Historia, is putting together another Zelda-related treat for fans.

This time they are creating a Zelda art book titled, The Legend of Zelda: Art & Artifacts. Art & Artifacts will include tons of promotional art, sprite work, and many more pieces, some of which have never been published in book format. This is coupled with exclusive designer interviews, as well as a look into the artwork of the next Zelda entry, Breath of the Wild.

Of course this follows the success of the Hyrule Historia, the first official publication of the Zelda timeline that puts all of the games into a single universe and explains their split into multiple time periods. While some gamers like MatPat of Game Theory disagree with the timeline, it was a monumental moment in the franchise. It makes perfect sense for Dark Horse to drudge up rare and interesting art and facts about Zelda once again. Personally, I can’t wait to see what Dark Horse finds in the history of one of the most influential game series’ of all time.

Of course, fans are still waiting on details for Nintendo’s next console the NX. Rumors are buzzing all over the place, but many details lead to a press release of some sort happening in September, giving Nintendo just six months of advertisement before their proposed March 2017 release. As of now, we only know of a few titles being slated for the NX, with Zelda: Breath of the Wild being one of them. During the recent E3 event, Nintendo opted out of a traditional press announcement to instead give the floor as much time with Zelda as possible. Unfortunately, that was the Wii U version, but there will hopefully be more substantial, official news in September.
