It is every Xbox owner’s favorite time of the month: Xbox Games With Gold announcement time! While we do not have a full announcement list quite yet, we do have a look at the first title, which launches the same day it goes free!
The title’s name is Earthlock: Festival of Magic. Control Amon, a desert scavenger on a world that has stopped spinning called Umbra. War is brewing and it is your job to unlock the mysteries of the planet. With these mysteries, you can stop a magic cult from seizing power of the world and unleashing a war on its citizens.
Earthlock was initially announced as a Kickstarter title back in March of 2014. After years of developing, it is now coming to the public. With initial exclusivity, Steam and Xbox One will be getting the title first, followed by Wii U and PlayStation 4 the following month. Not only is it launching on September 1st for PC and X1, but it is the first half of the Games with Gold program, meaning everyone with Xbox Live Gold can download it for free!
The game itself appears to be a classic non-linear RPG game, with turnbased attacks, monsters, heroes, and farming, just like Final Fantasy mixed with Harvest Moon. Can you say, “Yes please?” The farming will be useful, as well. With it you create your ammunition for battles, as well as battle consumables.
If you are playing on PC, the title will also be released on September 1st, however it comes with the pricetag of $29.99. Check out the trailer below and let us know if you are excited for what September will be bringing to the table!
