Rock Band 4 DLC Revealed For August

Rock Band 4 DLC Revealed For August

With Rock Band Rivals looming only a couple months away, Harmonix wants to make sure they reassure their fans and patrons that they have no intentions on stopping to put out a wide array of DLC for Rock Band 4. This month, I think we will see this in practice, ranging from 2000’s Pop, to 90’s rock, to 80’s hair metal. This month is going to be fun.

Let’s start with tomorrow’s DLC release, which features the 1993 hit “Mr. Jones” by Counting Crows, as well as the catchy, albeit controversial, 2013 song “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke ft. Pharrell. Yeah, like I said, a wide array of songs. Rock and pop. Also to note, Harmonix is keeping the trend of no monthly updates in the wake of their first expansion pack, as well as only two DLC songs for each week. The plus side with the DLC being done this way, instead of having rock/pop/metal weeks, they are able to mix them together so they don’t alienate customers weeks at a time. Honestly, it is a smart business model. Give fans what they want, as well as something to bring money in. Genius.

Along with these two songs, they revealed the full list of artists we will see over the next few weeks. They will be:

  • The Barbazons
  • Belinda Carlisle
  • Heart
  • Jason Mraz
  • Nicki Minaj
  • Tonic
  • Vertical Horizon
  • Winger

Once again: variety. I am unsure how so many people can complain about them being a business and wanting to bring in money, but in a way that doesn’t step on toes most weeks. That’s just my opinion, because I know there are some people who will not be happy week after week, but I digress. More songs for all!

Of course before I go I have to take a shot at what songs will be featured this month. I can make a guess on most.

  • The Barbazons- I honestly have no idea. I have never heard of this band. That I know of.
  • Belinda Carlisle- Heaven Is A Place On Earth. How can it not be?
  • Heart- Crazy On You. I honestly forgot this was Heart.
  • Jason Mraz- I’m Yours. Rock Band is overdue for Ukulele
  • Nicki Minaj- Guilty pleasure pick: Super Bass or Starships
  • Tonic- If You Could Only See
  • Vertical Horizon- Everything You Want. 90’s OVERLOAD!
  • Winger- I’ve honestly never heard of Winger, but it does appear Seventeen would be the most popular.

What do you all think? Out of the ballpark, or just flat out wrong? Let us know!
