South Park: The Fractured But Whole Delayed

The Fractured But Whole isn't quite whole enough

South Park: The Fractured But Whole Delayed

This past E3, Ubisoft announced that the sequel to 2014’s South Park: The Stick of TruthSouth Park: The Fractured But Whole would be coming out at the end of the year, on December 6th. Unfortunately, it has met the same fate as many other games in the past month: Delayed. Met with the same fate as Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, it will now be due out Q1 of 2017.

The delay was announced on the official Ubisoft blog, stating “the development team wants to make sure the game experience meets the high expectations of fans and the additional time will help them achieve this goal.” While it is disappointing, I applaud Ubisoft for having the balls to delay a highly awaited title to make sure the game is up to expectations. We saw what happened with the rush of Assassin’s Creed: Unity.

Generally when a game is delayed, it is not to piss off the consumers. Nor is it because of laziness. If a developer is not happy with where the title is at the time, I think it is necessary to hold the game off until it is up to par in their eyes. If a title is delayed, I generally have higher hopes, but there can be problems. (see: No Man’s Sky)

So does this make you not want the title, or do you feel like it could be necessary? Let us know in the comments below.
