Nintendo NX Glimpse Happening Tomorrow

Nintendo NX Glimpse Happening Tomorrow

THIS IS NOT A RUMOR. Nintendo themselves have just shared via Twitter and through an official press release that the Nintendo NX will be revealed tomorrow, at least in some fashion. This is the first major bit of news about Nintendo’s ever-important new console since The Pokemon Company confirmed they were going to make games for it. In fact, I was skeptical the console would even reach its March 2017 release date in time for Zelda: Breath of the Wilds. The full details on this Nintendo NX event are as follows;

“Visit http://www.nintendo.com/ on Thursday, October 20 at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET to be among the first to discover Nintendo NX. This preview trailer will serve as Nintendo’s preliminary announcement of information regarding the platform.”

Set your clocks folks, this is essentially a miniature Nintendo Direct happening once again on Nintendo’s website. Will the world get to see the console’s physical form tomorrow? Will gamers get to know what sort of games they’ll be able to enjoy on the system? Will the price of the Nintendo NX be discussed at all? More importantly, which rumors were true?

All of these questions will more than like not be answered, but the fact that Nintendo themselves are buckling down with information on their next console is excellent news. I’ll be keeping a close eye on the event and creating my own inferences here on Marooners’ Rock.

Let’s hear from you guys? What is the number one thing you want to see in the NX?

Personally, I want to be able to love my Nintendo home console as much as I do the handheld. The 3DS is such a great portable system, with a vast library of excellent games that all play fairly well since they’re on cartridges, and I would love for that level of design and care to continue. I’ll also call it here, that if the NX is a portable console, I think there’s an incredibly high chance that it will be able to play 3DS games. Meaning, journalists and content creators will be able to capture 3DS and hopefully regular DS footage without the need for an expensive custom capture unit and that would change how many approach journalism for those games.
