Victorious Maokai Announced for League of Legends

Each year, the League of Legends champion that makes the biggest impact in the competitive scene is commemorated through a skin at the end of the season. At the end of the season, players who are gold rank or higher receive the skin for free. Victorious skins can not be purchased which makes them a highly desired commodity, so much so that people are willing to pay others in order to help them get to gold.

Since the release of League of Legends, there have been five victorious skins that players have been able to earn. The five champions with victorious skins before the 2016 season are Jarvan IV, Janna, Elise, Morgana, and Sivir. Today the sixth victorious skin reward has been announced through the Chinese League of Legends site. The 2016  victorious skin is Victorious Maokai.

The Chinese League of Legends webpage lol.qq  was the first to make the announcement that victorious Maokai would be the 2016 victorious skin. Currently, there is no formal announcement from Riot Games on any of the other League of Legends pages around the world about victorious Maokai but expect for one to be made within the next two weeks. Currently, there is no announcement as to when the 2016 Ranked season will end, but players who achieve the Gold rank will  receive victorious Maokai sometime after the season ends as well as the ranked  team rewards ward skin.

Currently, the League of Legends World Championships is underway with sixteen teams from around the world competing to be the number one team in the world. This week and next week the sixteen teams will compete in the group stage which will determine which eight teams will move on to face each other in head to head competition. SKT T1 is attending their third world League of Legends tournament and are considered one of the top four teams to potentially win the world championship. Hopefully, victorious Maokai will be shown off during the League of Legends Champion, but it is exciting to see that a top lane champion will be receiving a victorious skin.
