If you own a 2DS or 3DS, odds are you are chest deep in Pokemon Sun and/or Moon. The Game Freak title released a week and a half ago, but they made a big announcement yesterday. Between now and December 13th, Game Freak has a challenge for you: to catch 100 million Pokemon. I know you can do it, Champ in the making.
The 100 million total is across the entirety of the game’s Game Sync function. Complete the challenge, and receive 1,000 Festival Coins, as long as you participate. If somehow the fanbase doesn’t catch 100 million, don’t worry, there is a consolation prize: 100 Festival Coins.
In order to participate, go to your Festival Plaza castle, activate game sync on the PC (this includes logging into the Pokemon Global Sync website), then speak to the Alolan resident next to the PC to participate in the event. As of right now, 17:02 on 11/30/2016, 786,870 Pokemon have been caught. Almost a hundredth of the way there. This is going to be a long week and a half.
