If you’ve been following along and patiently waiting to get your hands on Capcom’s Resident Evil 7 biohazard, then have we got some exciting news for you. No, the game didn’t get released early, it’s still set to release on January 24, 2017.
The news is that the head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, tweeted this exciting message earlier today for Resident Evil fans, “RESIDENT EVIL 7 biohazard confirmed for @Xbox Play Anywhere – buy once, play on both Xbox One & @Windows 10 PC”.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard is the first major game in the Xbox Play Anywhere program that isn’t published by Microsoft. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Xbox Play Anywhere, it is a program developed by Microsoft that allows players who have purchased a digital copy of an Xbox Play Anywhere title via the Xbox Store or Windows Store to play that game interchangeably on Xbox One or Windows 10. By being a part of the program, titles such as Resident Evil 7 biohazard are able to give players easy access to their game on both platforms by allowing them to sync and retrieve their saved games, achievements and downloadable content purchases from the cloud.
Xbox Play Anywhere is a phenomenal program and we are so happy to be seeing publishers and developers jumping on board and supporting it. Hopefully the addition of Resident Evil 7 biohazard to the roster is just a sign of what’s to come.

The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
