Evil Factory, An 8-Bit Boss Rush on Mobile

Evil Factory Screen

From the folks behind Dungeon Fighter Online, the MMORPG that combines traditional MMO play with old-school beat-em ups, comes Evil Factory. Evil Factory continues the trend of visually stunning pixel art by putting players against boss after boss with the goal to take out the infamous Kraken organization. Players will have to upgrade Leo, the short-tempered protagonist, with a slew of weapons and abilities if they want a chance to survive the onslaught. Evil Factory is available right now on both iOS and Android for free.

Evil Factory is a major passion project for us, showing off our distinct stylistic vision with gameplay that takes inspiration from some of our favorite arcade classics. Our team’s creativity and imagination shines through each 8-bit pixel and over-the-top boss fight, and we can’t wait to share it with players around the world. – Jaeho Hwang, Producer of Neople Games

While I’ve never been a fan of mobile games, I could definitely see myself getting into this. The music has some pedigree as its done by Jukio “Kuabee” Kallio who worked on both Luftrausers and Nuclear Throne, both of which had excellent soundtracks. I also like the little nods to retro gaming sprinkled about, like being able to collect cartridges that unlock mini arcade games.

Neople Games also plans to add more content after launch, like new bosses, weapons, and the like. It will be interesting to see how the game develops over time. Hopefully the aggravating elements of mobile play will be minimal. With enough players this could be a new obsession for many across the world.

As of this writing, I’m downloading the game now. No harm in trying out something for free, which is the beauty of the mobile gaming world. So many good games are free (ish) that we can easily check something out. It’s a more organic way to get the project out to more people. I’ll be keeping an eye on Evil Factory as it goes on, if I end up enjoying it, I’ll come back with some thoughts.

Until then, check out Evil Factory on either Android or iOS.
