Vertical Announces License of Gundam Wing: The Glory of Losers

Manga publisher Vertical Comics teased a Gundam announcement on its Twitter earlier today, and they certainly didn’t disappoint, when it revealed the acquisition of the series Gundam Wing: The Glory of Losers.

The Gundam Wing: The Glory of Losers manga is based on one of the more well-known Mobile Suit Gundam series in recent memory, Gundam Wing, which ran on Cartoon Network’s Toonami block years ago, for you 90s and early 2000s kids. Written by Katsuyuki Sumizawa, with illustration from Tomofumi Ogasawara, The Glory of Losers is a more complete telling of the events of the anime series, including elements from some of the side-stories as well. It is currently on-going, and at twelve volumes.

This isn’t the only revisit of classic Gundam manga that is available from Vertical Comics either, as the publisher also released Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, a retelling of the first Gundam series. Viz Media currently publishes the Mobile Suit Gundam: Thunderbolt manga, while Sunrise Inc. and Right Stuf, Inc. are releasing many of the Gundam anime series, classic and newer, in North America.

Additionally, Vertical also revealed the acquisition of Helvetica Standard, a four-panel color manga from the creator of Nichijou, Keiichi Arawi. Vertical has released six volumes of Nichijou in North America, while Funimation recently released the anime adaptation as well.
