At the Star Wars: The Last Jedi panel in Orlando, Florida, we were treated to a ton of new info on one of the most anticipated movies of the year. One of the more interesting pieces, besides the trailer and poster, was the announcement of a new character. Kelly Marie Tran will play a Resistance maintenance worker named Rose in the upcoming film.
Rose will apparently be a very important character and will play a big part in Episode VIII. There weren’t too many details revealed for Rose other than the fact that she will be joining all our favorite characters from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Another funny story from the panel was the Kelly had to, unsurprisingly, keep her role very quiet to everyone, including family and friends. When asked about it, she responded, “I told them I was doing an indie movie in Canada!”
