Manga publisher Seven Seas Entertainment announced yesterday, the acquisition of one new manga series, as well as a novel series, that will be making their debuts in North America late this year.

Nirvana is a magical adventure series, from Jin and Sayuki (ZOWLS), the artist of the Mikagura School Suite manga. The story follows Yachiyo Hitotose, a young woman who gives her time and energy to help others, following in her mother’s footsteps. While traveling to become a relief volunteer, her plane crashes, and Yachiyo awakens in a world of magic, where reincarnations and fate dictate the lives of the people. She finds herself being praised as a goddess against the forces of evil, with a mysterious keepsake from her mother being the key to saving everyone.

Seven Seas Entertainment will be releasing Nirvana as single-volume editions. The first volume is planned to release on Aug. 8, 2017.

As the publisher also expands to light novels, it revealed the acquisition of the two Perfect Blue novels by Yoshikazu Takeuchi. The first served as inspiration for the acclaimed animated film from Satoshi Kon.

The first novel, Perfect Blue: Metamorphosis, focused on Mima Kirigoe, a pop idol that makes the shift to acting. Her life takes a variety of strange turns, as she finds herself connected to a series of shocking murders, pushing her perception of reality. While the second novel, Perfect Blue: Awaken from a Dream, offers a separate plot, filled with just as much psychological drama as the first.

The novels will be released as single editions, with Metamorphosis available on Dec. 12, 2017. Awaken from a Dream will follow on Apr. 24, 2018.
