The Four Horseman of the Apocalypse Will Ride Again

Amazon Appears To Leak Darksiders III

Keeping anything a secret these days is a herculean task on to itself. THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games were a victim of that hardship this morning as Amazon has seemingly revealed that Darksiders III is headed to PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It has a placeholder date of December 31st, 2018, and unlike other early listings, a few screenshots are included, as well as a product description that sheds light on the third installment of this franchise.

Taken from the Amazon listing, the product description reads as follows; “Return to an apocalyptic Earth in Darksiders III, a hack-n-slash Action Adventure where players assume the role of FURY in her quest to hunt down and dispose of the Seven Deadly Sins. The most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen, FURY must succeed where many have failed – to bring balance to the forces that now ravage Earth. Darksiders III is the long-anticipated, third chapter in the critically-acclaimed Darksiders franchise.”

Accompanying the screenshots (which are included below), we get a little more information from Darksiders III, including that FURY is “a mage who must rely on her whip and magic”. She also has multiple forms she can transform into, which will “grant her access to new weapons, moves, and traversal abilities”. Lastly, she will be going against the “Seven Deadly Sins and their servants”, so it seems FURY will have her hands full.

The Darksiders franchise began back in 2010, and was developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ. It received a sequel in 2012, Darksiders II, and each game in the franchise focuses on a different member of a variation on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. War was the focus of Darksiders and Death was the focus of Darksiders II. Assuming Darksiders IV sees the light of day, it would make sense that we would see Strife next.

In 2012, our Sr. Editor, Andrew Peggs, went to THQ to see Darksiders II before the company was closed in 2013. When THQ was shuttered, fans of Darksiders, including Andrew, weren’t sure if they would see the story live on, but thanks to THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games, it appears those of us eager to continue the tale of Darksiders are in for a treat.

Stay tuned to Marooners’ Rock for more info as it’s released about Darksiders III and everything else awesome in this world!
