Surprise, Deadly Premonition is getting a board game adaptation!

Tuesday, Rising Star Games launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a board game version of their video game: Deadly Premonition, a survival horror game where the main character gains insight from swirling his coffee about mysteries and supernatural happenings. The developers had set a goal of $50,000.00, which was amazingly met within eight hours of the campaign starting. Currently, the game is sitting around $90,000.00, and may very well reach $100,000.00 by the weekend, and is exciting for Deadly Premonition fans. The board game takes place in the town of Greenvale and the player must solve the murder of Anna Graham. The player is given five random suspect cards while the other players must determine who is innocent or guilty.

The board game sounds promising and simple to play which is a plus for most card games. One thing, that has peaked my interest, will be the ability to challenge evidence and role play with other players. The developers seem to want to bring Deadly Premonition: The Board Game into a new light and introduce it to new crowds. I am not a fan of board games, but I am excited to give this one a try. I would also like to encourage anyone that is a fan of bad/good games to give Deadly Premonition a try–it remains one of my favorites. Not only for the quirky characters, bizarre imagery, and voice acting you just want to laugh at, it’s a good game that is a bit of a hidden gem from the last generation of consoles.
