Xbox Game Pass Now Available for Xbox Live Gold Members

Microsoft has announced that Xbox Game Pass is now available on Xbox One for all Xbox Live Gold subscribers. For those unfamiliar, Xbox Game Pass gives subscribers unlimited access to over 100 titles. These include Xbox One games and some in the Xbox 360 Backward Compatability Program. The list of 100 games will be tweaked each and every month, and as long as a game is a part of Xbox Game Pass, you will be able to purchase it for a 20% discount.

Xbox Game Pass is $9.99/month, yet all of you with an Xbox One and Xbox Live Gold can jump into this service with a free 14-day trial. If you don’t have Gold, you will be able to access Xbox Game Pass beginning on June 1st. What sets Xbox Game Pass apart from Sony’s PlayStation Now is that whereas the aforementioned service has you streaming various games to your console, Xbox Game Pass allows you to download the titles directly to your system. This ensures no connectivity issues or anything of the sort, and it acts as any other downloaded title.

At launch, some of the featured titles are Halo 5: Guardians, NBA 2K16, BioShock Infinite, and Saints Row IV: Re-Elected. You can check out a full list of games available at launch here.

As long as you are a subscriber you have access to your downloaded games, but if you decide to cancel, the titles will be removed from your console. As with most subscription services, if you decide to come back, you can redownload your games and jump right back in from where you left off.

Lastly, for those of you worried this will somehow change Xbox Live’s Games with Gold, Microsoft has assured us that these are two separate offerings and will not impact the free games service.
