Battlefield 1 “In the Name of the Tsar” DLC Details

BF1 In the Name of Tsar

Have you been enjoying the intense battles of WWI since the release of Battlefield 1 this past October? If so, get ready to take the war to a completely different front, the Eastern Front. Today during publishing giant EA’s EA Play, In the Name of the Tsar was announced as the “most extensive expansion pack in the history of the franchise.” Along with six new maps to battle it out on, the new expansion will also include 11 new weapons, more Operations, a whole new game mode called Supply Drop, and new vehicles. You will also get the chance to fight as the Russian Army and the formidable Women’s Battalion of Death.

In an effort to give players even more content up to the launch of In the Name of the Tsar, the game will also start receiving monthly updates, new maps, and in-game events throughout the next couple months. A feature called Premium Friends will also be continuing, allowing Premium Pass owners to bring their friends into Premium maps until Gamescom in August, where DICE will unveil a brand new competitive experience in Battlefield 1.

The first of the aforementioned maps to be released for Premium Pass members is Nivelle Nights in June. In Nivelle Nights, players will fight for victory in close quarters trench combat. The second map, Prise de Tahure, has French troops holding a re-captured area of the Butte-de-Tahure region in July. Along with the release of the latter map, Premium Trials will be available for non-Premium players to experience everything the Premium Pass brings. If all that wasn’t enough, Battlefield 1 Turning Tides is set to launch in December followed by Battlefield 1 Apocalypse in early 2018.

As someone that played Battlefield 1 intensely when it first released, this lineup of additional content as well as the Premium Trials may be enough to get me back on the battlefield. In the Name of the Tsar launches in September later this year.

I've been gaming for as long as a can remember. While I'm primarily interested in cinematic story driven games, I do believe the heart of the industry is the indie game. Other than games, I'm passionate about soccer, occasionally stream on Twitch, and I'm in school for Web Development.
