Nintendo Direct E3 2017 Game Announcements

All Major Trailers from the Annual Nintendo Direct

super-mario-odyssey-hat Nintendo

Nintendo wrapped up all of E3’s 2017 press conferences this past Tuesday and in the process, made some pretty big game announcements. As per usual, Nintendo touched on a variety of topics during their spotlight presentation. This included updates on several already-announced titles and then the official announcements for brand new titles such as a Pokémon RPG and Metroid Prime 4, both of which are currently in development. You can find a list of all their announcements and trailers below.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

First up we got a trailer for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Get ready to embark on a journey to Elysium in this JRPG, coming to the Nintendo Switch in the winter of 2017.

Kirby

Kirby is back and will be coming to the Nintendo Switch in HD and in 2018. Recruit enemies as helpers, use Kirby copy abilities such as Sword, Fire, and Water, plus join forces with up to three friends in this co-op adventure.

A Pokémon RPG

Tsunekazu Ishihara of The Pokémon Company announced that a new Pokemon RPG is in the works and will be coming to Switch. Unfortunately, we probably won’t be seeing that title for at least another year or two.

Metroid Prime 4

This one really caught Metroid fans off guard and still has people losing their minds out of excitement. Disappointingly, we were only given a title card for the game. We know nothing about this game, but hopefully we’ll get more details soon.

Yoshi

Yoshi heads on an adventure with a new art style in a brand new action platforming game that is making its way to the Nintendo Switch sometime in 2018. Explore a great big world decorated like a miniature diorama, look for items throughout the stages, and team up with a friend in a new art style for the franchise.

Fire Emblem Warriors

Clash with legions of soldiers and fierce monsters as Marth, Xander, Corrin, and other Fire Emblem heroes unleash over-the-top Dynasty Warriors-style moves. Fire Emblem Warriors is launching on Nintendo Switch in fall 2017.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC

If you own The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the Expansion Pass will grant you access to the two highly anticipated DLC expansions. This includes three new treasure chests, Master Trials – DLC Pack 1, and The Champions’ Ballad – DLC Pack 2 when they are released. DLC Pack 1 will come with: Trial of the Sword, Master Mode, Hero’s Path, Travel Medallion, Korok Mask and eight new armors. Master Trials – DLC Pack 1 will be available June 30, 2017, and The Champions’ Ballad – DLC Pack 2 will be available sometime closer to the end of the year during the holiday season.

Additionally, with the second expansion The Champions’ Ballad, four new Amiibo will be released. Those Amiibo are of Mipha, Urbosa, Daruk, and Revali.

Rocket League

This winner/nominee for more than 150 ‘Game of the Year’ awards is an awesome game and I am so glad that it is making its way to the Nintendo Switch. This highly competitive cross between race cars and soccer will have a fully-featured offline season mode, multiple game types, casual and competitive online matches, and special “Mutators”.

Super Mario Odyssey

Last, but certainly not least, Nintendo closed up the show with a demo of their new game, Super Mario Odyssey. This bizarre 3D adventure gives Mario the special ability to control enemies by throwing his magical hat onto them. He must use this to help him save Princess Peach from Bowser’s wedding plans. This game is only a few months away from being released and I am excited. It will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on October 27, 2017.

That about wraps it up for Nintendo’s E3 2017 press conference. Let us know what your favorite Nintendo announcement was and if you’re looking forward to any of these new games. Also, be sure to check out more of our E3 2017 coverage HERE!
