On Thursday, July 6th, 2017 at 7am PT/10am ET, Nintendo will be releasing a Splatoon 2 focused Nintendo Direct. As with most Nintendo Direct announcements, there weren’t that many more details provided besides that fact that they will be exploring “some of the new features in the upcoming Nintendo Switch game Splatoon 2.” This announcement comes just a few weeks before Splatoon 2 launches for the Nintendo Switch on July 21st, 2017.
Splatoon 2 takes the ink-based warfare of the original title and adds many more weapons, maps, and even the new Salmon Run mode which is Splatoon 2’s version of Horde mode from the Gears of War franchise. There will also be another campaign, where we will see what happened following the breakup of our favorite Squid Sisters, Callie & Marie, and this drama will be heightened even higher when Callie goes missing. You will have to go through multiple levels, fighting unique bosses and unlocking different weapons and skills, all while searching for Callie and the Great Zapfish.
