Dragon Quest Builders 2 Coming to Nintendo Switch

Earlier this week, a new trailer for Dragon Quest Builders 2 was revealed during Square Enix’s Dragon Quest Summer Festival 2017. At the reveal, audience members got to see the world of Dragon Quest in an open and buildable world. During the panel, audience members were informed that Dragon Quest Builders 2 would be releasing on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

During Dragon Quest Builders 2 trailer, audience members learned that they could glide around the map to travel quickly and avoid falling to their doom. DQB2 will support co-op multiplayer allowing for 4 players to work together to build their dream civilizations. The game will feature underwater exploration, allowing players to gather resources and swim around. Dragon Quest Builders 2 will allow players to build three times higher and lower than they could in Dragon Quest Builders.

At the moment, story details for Dragon Quest Builders 2 are limited and the launch date for Japan and international release have yet to be announced. The trailer features an adorable version of Alefgard. As Alefgard moves throughout the world, viewers can notice slimes moving throughout the world; it will be interesting to see what other slimes or monsters may appear throughout the world. The game’s inventory will allow players to hold at least fifteen items excluding a mallet and a spiked club. Similar to Minecraft, players will have an HP bar and have food measures.

What other Dragon Quest heroes make an appearance in Dragon Quest Builders 2? What will you build in order to protect yourself from wild monsters? Will the world experience a variety of seasons and natural elements that will make players strategically plan where they make their civilizations? How will  Dragon Quest Builders 2 compare to Minecraft: Forgotten Realms? Will Dragon Quest Builders 2 play better on PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch? Will PS4 players be able to play DQB2 on the PlayStation Vita?
