Gamescom 2017: Ubisoft’s The Crew 2 Gets Release Date

Today at Gamescom, Ubisoft announced a release date for The Crew 2, along with a variety of pre-order offers. Also released was a multi-vehicle gameplay trailer, and some additional details for how integrating cars, motorcycles, boats, and planes is going to work out.

Coming March 16th, 2018 to PlayStation®4 Pro, PlayStation®4, Xbox One family, and Windows PCs; The Crew 2 promises huge, action-packed open world racing across the entire United States. Players will face challenges in four different families of races: street racing, off-road, pro-racing, and freestyle, with a huge variety of choices across vehicle types. Racing provides options for street racing, Red-Bull Racing style aerobatics, powerboat racing, jetsprint, rally raid, drift, Alpha Grand Prix, and Motocross.

With the pre-order options announced this week, players have some additional ways to start their garages (and hangers, and closets) off with some additional options.

All pre-orders will receive The Legendary Motors Pack, which includes a 2016 Mercedes C63 AMG, and a 2017 Harley-Davidson Iron 883. The Crew 2 Deluxe Edition features the contents of The Legendary Motors Pack, plus the Motorsports Deluxe Pack which contains a 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Race Truck, a 2008 Abarth 500 Monster Truck, a Pilatus PC-21 trainer/light attack aircraft, plus three unique outfits for the player avatar. For the dedicated completionists, there’s also The Crew 2 Gold Edition, which contains The Legendary Motors Pack, The Crew 2 Motorsports Deluxe Pack, and The Season Pass for future DLC. Pre-ordering The Crew 2 Gold Edition will also allow players a three day head start, with full game access unlocking on March 13th, 2018.

Prices for The Crew 2 Deluxe Edition have been set at $69.99 USD. For the Gold edition, a digital copy will cost $99.99 USD, while a physical edition for either Xbox One or PlayStation®4 will cost $109.99, but include a collector’s edition SteelBook. There does not appear to be a digital version available for PC.
