Bethesda has released a brand new trailer, the Wrathful, “Righteous” Priest, that focuses on Father Theodore, one of the human “monsters” who have made their way into the new STEM world in The Evil Within 2. According to the press release, Father Theodore is a master manipulator and is looking to get in protagonist Sebastian Castellanos’ way and prevent him from finding his daughter, Lily, and escaping “the nightmare of STEM”.
For those unfamiliar, according the The Evil Within Fandom Wiki, “STEM is a system that allows multiple minds to be brought together and to be connected. Using a Bathtub-like Terminus, subjects can be connected to one particular mind and experience the memories, and perceptions of the individual.”
Father Theodore has his own goals for being in STEM, but they seem to be against Mobius’ goals, which he wants no part of. Throughout the story of The Evil Within 2, Sebastian will get more entangled in Father Theodore’s world and will learn more about his goals. Theodore won’t be alone, however, as he has with the Harbingers, who are normal people that Father Theodore has bent to his will. They wield flamethrowers and burn any who stand in Theodore’s way.
The Evil Within 2 is the sequel to the 2014 survival horror game from the mind of Resident Evil creator, Shinji Mikami. This sequel has you taking on twisted creatures in horrifying domains and facing off your own worst nightmares as you do all you can to save your daughter.
The Evil Within 2 launches worldwide on October 13th, 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
