343 Industries Reveals Upcoming Updates For Existing Halo Games

343 Industries recently held a Halo Livestream in which they shared new information about updates coming to Halo 5: Guardians, Halo Wars 2, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. With the Xbox One X arriving in less than a month, it is great to know what early adopters will have to look forward to and how their existing games will preform even better.

First up, Halo 5: Guardians. In November, the Overtime update will go live and will feature the 4K update which will make Halo 5 shine on the Xbox One X. In addition, there will be updated weapon tuning and the return of the Oddball, the multiplayer mode in which a Skull is placed on the map and the team who can find and hold the Skull for the longest wins. Sometime after the launch of the Overtime update, 343 will introduce new skins to continue to motivate players to jump in and working towards collecting all cosmetic items.

This update will also introduce the Local Server app which will allow Halo 5: Guardians players to host a local server on any Windows 10 PC on the same network as the Xbox One consoles playing Halo 5 and allow for low-latency multiplayer matches.

Halo Wars 2 is also set to benefit from the launch of Xbox One X and will feature 4K and HDR. Halo Wars 2 players will also be able to face off against those from opposite platforms as crossplay will allow Xbox One and Windows 10 PC players to play together. On Xbox One, an Xbox Arena mode will be added to the game and allow for players to organize and host their own online tournaments. The features mentioned above will be available in Halo Wars 2 sometime in late October.

While we didn’t get much information beyond an announcement, Halo: The Master Chief collection will also be receiving Xbox One X enhancements in 2018, though that’s all about all we know so far.

Are you looking forward to these updates and Xbox One X Enhancements? Are you still playing these titles or has the ship sailed? Let us know below!
